Þorsteinn Bachmann

Þorsteinn Bachmann, born on the 25th of October, 1965, is a critically acclaimed Icelandic actor recognizable for his impactful role as Móri in the film 'Life in a Fishbowl'. His remarkable performance in this particular role not only catapulted him to fame but also won him the prestigious Edda Award in 2015. Hailing from the Fossvogur area of Reykjavík, Iceland, Þorsteinn's early life was fraught with academic challenges. He moved to Breiðholt at the age of ten, and it was only after changing schools was he able to significantly improve his reading and writing skills.

Having graduated from the Icelandic Drama School in 1991, Þorsteinn has enjoyed a diverse and energetic career, associated with a multitude of theatre groups in both Reykjavík and Akureyri. His contribution to the performing arts extends beyond acting, as he served as a teacher at the Icelandic Drama School and the Icelandic Film School and was president of the theatre group in Akureyri for a number of years. Despite his busy career, Þorsteinn has maintained a robust preparatory routine before every film or stage premiere. This includes hitting the gym, swimming, and relaxing in a sauna. His dedication and acting talent have made him a versatile performer, recognized for his roles in films such as 'The Icelandic Dream', 'Eleven Men Out', 'Thicker Than Water', 'Volcano' and the critically acclaimed TV series 'Trapped', among others.
