Matthew Lauria (born August 15, 1982) is a prolific American actor and musician who made his television debut on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock in 2007. He became widely recognized for his roles as Luke Cafferty on the critically-acclaimed NBC/DirecTV drama Friday Night Lights, Ryan York on the popular NBC family drama Parenthood, and Ryan Wheeler on the Audience drama Kingdom. In 2021, Lauria appeared as a series regular, playing Josh Folsom on the highly-anticipated crime thriller television series CSI: Vegas. Lauria embarked on his acting journey at a young age moving to Ireland with his family when he was just seven years old. His father, an animator and artist, nurtured Lauria's passion for the arts. He later returned to the U.S. to attend high school and subsequently pursued formal acting training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama.
