His early film career was marked by appearances in successful movies like Sex, Party and Lies (2009), Brain Drain (2009), and Three Steps Above Heaven (2010). Casas continued to star in films such as Unit 7 (2012), I Want You (2012; the successor to Three Steps Above Heaven), and The Mule (2013). He also appeared in English-language projects like Eden and The 33. His performance in Cross the Line (2020) garnered him his first Goya Award for Best Actor. In 2023, he made his directorial debut with Caged Wings. He was born in A Coruña to a young couple and moved to Barcelona when he was four. At the age of 17–18, he relocated to Madrid with his family, balancing odd jobs with acting training at the Cristina Rota acting school. His expansive career, from soap operas to Spanish language films, and even English-language international projects, demonstrates his versatility and commitment to his craft.
