Lashana Lynch, born on November 27, 1987, is a reputed British actress best known for her diverse roles in television and films. Gaining initial recognition for her role as Rosaline Capulet in the ABC period drama series Still Star-Crossed in 2017, Lynch has since built a prolific career spanning various genres. She notably won the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2022 and made a significant impact with her portrayal of Maria Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Captain Marvel released in 2019. Her filmography also includes the James Bond film No Time to Die, the historical epic The Woman King, Bob Marley: One Love, and the popular British television series, Day of the Jackal.

Lynch was born and brought up in Hammersmith, London and is of Jamaican descent. After attending Twyford CofE High School and ArtsEd drama school, Lynch embarked on her acting journey in 2007. Notable roles include her debut in the 2012 drama film, Fast Girls, and her work in the BBC television film, The 7.39. She appeared in various television series such as Silent Witness, Death in Paradise, and had a regular role in the BBC comedy Crims. She also performed in theatre productions, notably starring opposite Lenny Henry in the title role of the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Educating Rita. She earned an award of distinction at the 2020 Black Women in Hollywood Awards and was cast in significant roles in the MCU and the James Bond franchise, among others. In 2024, Lynch lent her voice and likeness for the main character in the video game project, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020.
