Charlie Day

Charlie Day, born as Charles Peckham Day on February 9, 1976, is an American actor, writer, and producer. Best known for his character Charlie Kelly on the FX comedy series 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', a series he co-stars in alongside actors like Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, Glenn Howerton and Danny DeVito. This series also showcases his skills as a writer and executive producer and has earned him nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award and Satellite Award. Day's skills not confined only to television, his notable performances in cinema include roles like Dr. Newton Geiszler in Pacific Rim and its sequel, Dale Arbus in Horrible Bosses and its sequel, and Andy Campbell in Fist Fight. His voiceover skills are prominent in Monsters University, The Lego Movie franchise, and the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Charlie was born in New York City and spent most of his early years in Middletown, Rhode Island. His paternal ancestry traces back to Italian and Irish roots. His love for performance and arts began at Merrimack College, where he was actively involved with the student theater organization 'Onstagers'. Charlie's journey from small TV roles and voiceovers during and after his college years, to his major breakthrough with 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' has been quite remarkable. Still maintaining his foothold in TV production, he has contributed to producing other shows like 'The Cool Kids' and 'Mythic Quest'. His directorial debut in 2023, with the movie 'Fool's Paradise', further expands his scope of talents. A lesser-known fact is that Day is a multi-instrumentalist, capable of playing piano, trombone, guitar, and harmonica. Together with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, they share one son.
