Amanda Peet

**Amanda Peet**, born on January 11, 1972, is an eminent American actress who made her career debut with small television parts and her feature film debut in _Animal Room (1995)_. She caught the spotlight with her role as Jill St. Claire in _The Whole Nine Yards (2000)_. Over the years, she has famously appeared in a wide range of films, including _Saving Silverman (2001)_, _Something's Gotta Give_, _Identity (both 2003)_, _Melinda and Melinda (2004)_, _A Lot like Love_, _Syriana (both 2005)_, _The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008)_, and _2012 (2009)_. On the small screen, Peet is known for her roles on shows such as The WB's _Jack & Jill_, NBC's _Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip_, HBO's _Togetherness_, and Bravo's _Dirty John_. In 2021, she notably wrote and co-executive produced _The Chair_ for Netflix. Peet was born in New York City to Penny, a social worker, and Charles Peet Jr., a corporate lawyer. At a young age of seven, Peet moved with her family to London, returning to New York four years later. She enrolled in HB Studio's teen acting program at thirteen. An alumnus of Columbia University with a degree in American history, Peet decided to pursue acting after auditioning for Uta Hagen. During her four-year period of study with Hagen, Peet appeared in the off-Broadway revival of Clifford Odets's _Awake and Sing!_ with Stephen Lang. She had the privilege of performing in Neil Simon's Broadway production of _Barefoot in the Park_, and with many prolific actors in films like _Identity Thief_, _The Way, Way Back_, _Something's Gotta Give_, and more.
