Alona Tal

Alona Tal was born on October 20, 1983 in Herzliya, Israel, into a culturally rich family. Her father, Ami Tal, is a computer professional of Sephardi and Mizrahi (Turkish‑Jewish) descent, while her mother, Ayala Sabat, is a lawyer of Ashkenazi (Polish‑Jewish) heritage. Both parents were born in Israel; they divorced when Alona was nine, and she grew up with two sisters and two half‑sisters from her father’s later relationship. She attended Thelma Yellin High School in Givatayim, majoring in theatre, and later served in the Israel Defense Forces’ military theatre, describing herself as a “spiritual person.” After completing her service, Tal began her entertainment career with a children’s musical video where she played an evil witch, followed by a laundry‑detergent commercial and a lead role in the Israeli film Lihiyot Kochav (To Be A Star). Her early television work included the soap opera Tzimerim and the sitcom HaPijamot, where she showcased both acting and musical talent, appearing in the first three seasons and returning for guest spots in later episodes.
