Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, known as Ali MacGraw, is an American actress who gained prominence after her role in Goodbye, Columbus (1969), securing her a Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Her stardom continued to ascend after her stellar performance in Love Story (1970), earning her another Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, and a nomination for an Academy Award concerning Best Actress. With immense popularity, in 1972 MacGraw topped the list of the world’s top female box office stars and was honored at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. She continued her phenomenal acting career into the late ’80s, starring in The Getaway (1972), Convoy (1978), Players (1979), Just Tell Me What You Want (1980), and The Winds of War (1983). MacGraw expanded her career dimensions by penning an autobiography Moving Pictures in 1991. Ranging from her early days as a photographic assistant at Harper's Bazaar magazine to her role in shaping the practice of Hatha Yoga into mainstream popularity as recognized by Vanity Fair magazine in 2007, MacGraw’s career spans multiple roles in the entertainment industry. Apart from maintaining stardom on the silver screen, MacGraw displayed her acting prowess on stage, making her debut in 2006 in the drama Festen (The Celebration). She also reunited with Ryan O'Neal in a staging of Love Letters that toured the US and UK through 2017. An ardent animal lover and welfare advocate, she received the Humane Education Award by Animal Protection of New Mexico.
