Alfredo Castro

Alfredo Castro is a prominent Chilean film and television actor. He is best known for his collaborations with Chilean director Pablo Larraín, appearing in all of the director's features from **Fuga** in 2006 to **El Club** in 2015. Castro's performance in the latter earned him the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival. Among his notable roles were Raúl Peralta in **Tony Manero** (2008) and the sadistic prison warden in Larraín's **Post Mortem** (2010). In addition to his work in film and television, Castro is also a theatre director and playwright, founding the Teatro La Memoria theatre group in 1988. Throughout his career, Castro has been praised for his intense, transformative performances.
